Design Spotlight Transforming a Home into Luxury: Horton Hotel by Eye for Pretty – An Exquisite AirBnB Renovation

Nicole Salceda’s full-service interior design studio based out Danville, CA, Eye for Pretty has taken on influencer, Krista Horton’s, former home nestled in a quaint area of Bakersfield and transformed it into a luxurious AirBnB destination. A place that is sure to make guests feel right at home upon arrival.

The design vision showcases traditional appeal with contemporary flair. It was all about going natural in a bold sense with the color palette giving the home a timeless look and feel.

From the décor to the tile selection, the details were defined within every area of the home. The tiles and slabs incorporated from the outdoor to the bathroom spaces made the design vision come to life. Functional yet stylish were key in the materials. From the Zagora zellige 2x6 tile in Blanc featured as a backsplash in the kitchen complementing the Bianco Superiore quartzite selected in a leather finish on the counters and walls as well as the island. Another quartzite slab that was incorporated, Taj Mahal also in a leather finish featured in the powder bath and hall bath giving these areas a warm, relaxing aesthetic.

At the front of the house, the Tumbled Ledger 8x22 Limestone Wired Mesh in Beige and Grey hone in the traditional mark that accompanied the architecture of the home. In the backyard patio, a 4x4 size of the Zagora zellige tile in Blanc reeling in the contemporary charm.

It was all about going above and beyond for the guests. Nicole Salceda’s Eye for Pretty created character and redefined the home into a beautiful space for the Hortons’ guests to feel warm and welcomed in.
