Choosing Grout for Cloé's White Subway Tile

By Bedrosians Tile & Stone | 6/25/2019

Our Cloé ceramic wall tile in white has quickly become a best seller for us. And one of the most common questions we get from our Instagram audience is "what color grout do I choose?" First of all, there is no single color that works best - it's about finding the tile/grout combination that suits your style. The color you choose can help you achieve a unique look and help your tiles stand out and look their best. Let's take a look at some of our favorite client projects using Cloe in White and their grout choices.

Light Grey Grout

Grey grout is a beautiful choice for white tiles as the slight contrast in color helps make the white tile pop. Once you add a color difference between your tile and grout, the shape of the tile is revealed more clearly, and the grout itself forms a pattern out of the negative space.

For this project, the grey grout choice also blends well with the blue and grey colors of the accent tile Enchante Charm used behind the stove and the dark blue island. Grout color can not only be used to complement the tile itself, but also tie together other colors used in the space.

Alabaster Grout

House flipper Jenny Komenda designed a kitchen with white, warm beige and tan colors with Cloe in White as the wall tile, even using it on the bench of the breakfast nook. She chose an alabaster-colored grout to give detail to the tile that helped bring the warm colors in the room together.

White Grout

If you want your tile to be the wow factor, and not necessarily the pattern the grout creates, try matching your grout color to your tile color. This prevents the eye from being distracted from the grout lines. This style works well with white tile when you want a fresh and bright look.
