Whether it's the laundry room or mudroom, these spaces are some of the hardest working areas in your home. Because of moisture and dirt, these rooms require durable surfaces that are easy to clean and will withstand wear and tear. Fortunately, with our huge selection of tile and stone, you don't have to give up style for function. With the right floor, countertops, cabinets and storage containers, you can make these rooms beautiful and organized. Clean and Fresh - This laundry room combines marble and wood-look porcelain. For an elegant look, the designer choose a honed marble slab of Soho White for the countertop and backsplash. The floor is our wood-look porcelain Tahoe in the Glacier color. Because laundry and mudrooms come in contact with water, porcelain is the best choice for a laundry room because it doesn’t allow moisture penetration.

Subway Style - White subway is a classic choice for a full wall. The design is made for longevity with the pairing of navy blue cabinets, a farm sink and a concrete-look porcelain tile floor. Open shelves keep the room light and airy.

Gorgeous Granite - This laundry room, part of a whole house renovation, has Bianco Antico polished granite countertops. In this mudroom, the designer chose a grey grout for a pop of contrast. The darker grout will do well over time as this space is used everyday for in and out traffic.

- Soil or water may be tracked in from outside, so choose a durable flooring like porcelain or natural stone. (Mudroom)
- Floor may be exposed to detergent, bleach or other substances. Porcelain is less likely to be affected by these substances. (Laundry Room)
- Moisture from machines or wet laundry may accumulate. If you choose natural stone for your floor or counter, be sure to apply a penetrating sealer. (Laundry Room)
- Water may cause slipperiness so be sure to choose a flooring that provides good traction. (Both)
- If doing a remodel or build, consider using any leftover slab from kitchens or bathrooms for counters in your laundry or mudroom. (Both)
